February Luncheon

Monday, February 15

Our next function is our President’s Day luncheon. Our board realizes that some of our members attend the NYC chapter event on this day, but most of us wouldn’t, so a luncheon seemed like a fine idea. We will be dining on Monday, February 15, at 12:30 in Donovan’s of Bayside. Donovan’s has great food, it’s own valet parking, and a municpal lot and street parking. It is also two blocks east of the Bayside station on the Port Washington branch of the LIRR. The Q13 from flushing and the Q31 from Jamaica also bring you to the block. Donovan’s is located at 214-16 41st avenue, right off Bell Blvd.  There number is (718) 423-5353. Join us for a fun time; cost for a delicious lunch with soft drinks, salad, entree, and desert is only $15. Hanging out with some colleagues; priceless!

Co-sponsored by the Suffolk, Nassau, and Queens Chapters, the miniconvention was a tremendous success. We had in excess of 50 people there, some presenters, performers. We are interested in feedback from those who came as well as those who didn’t and why they weren’t interested or able. We have discussed the possibility of making this an event every two years, so your feedback is valued.

Please keep Joe Marchese in your thoughts and prayers. Joe has been a member forever (okay, not nearly that long) and has not been well lately. We did see Joe at our September barbecue at Andy’s, however, and he was still himself; a good thing.

Elections are coming up soon. Every year that I can remember we ask for people to get more involved, with only a few responses. How about helping out with planning or thinking, or making coffee or something? Let me know at: dean@QuensNYago.org if you are interested in participating in YOUR AGO chapter.

The event that we had planned for MARCH 21 in Chaminade HS with the Nassau chapter has been canceled. There was some change made and the recital already has taken place. Below (hopefully) is a list of upcoming concerts and events in the area that may be of interest to our members.

Have a great snowstorm! See you Monday at Donovan’s, I hope.

We didn’t just crawl on Monday, October 12. We played and ate and went for a swim. Ok, no swim, but it sure was cool by the pool!

Consider taking a class, practicing extra, or going to one of the regional AGO conventions, being held SOON.

The NYC Chapter has a rather good calendar of organ related concerts and recitals in our area.

We do not maintain a list of substitutes, but are often asked. If you are available, let us know (specifically at the dean’s email)

and your name and number can be shuffled along.
