Well, here it is December, and it's time for many of us to mentally prepare for busy Christmas seasons full of extra music. We all properly planned musically months ago, no? After this, we deserve a break! Well, the board of the Queens AGO has foreseen your needs and along with the Nassau and Suffolk chapters, again present a mini-convention in January. Many of you attended our mini-conventions in the past, and the hours of planning for this one promise to make for a day you can't miss. There are details at our website, or attached to this newsletter, or in your envelope; no matter how you hear about this event, you can't miss registering. We again thank the Community Church of Douglaston for allowing us to use their facilities. They are centrally located and easily accessed by car or rail. This year lunch will be catered and included in the price so as to reduce complications. Coffee and bagel type things are available if you come early enough. If you have any questions, call or email me and I'll get back to you with whatever answer I can find. Keep the date free and register early so that we can be sure to have enough materials. If you don't, there will be walk-ins allowed, but for a little extra fee. Trust me, it's best to sign up in advance. See the registration forms for details. Did I say that already, or not yet? Bring another organist friend with you. Details of the workshops are available on the registration materials (ahhhh there it is!). See you there!
Also keep free, if you can, President's Day in February. Traditionally we hold our midwinter luncheon on that day and that is our plan again this year. Keep an eye out for details; we'd love to have some new faces and some of our new members at these events, so if you are one, or know one, please come along! |
